Summary
A monochrome albumen print on cream coloured card. A copy of a painting, depicting two young boys, one in the foreground and one standing in the doorway in a background. Bottom left is a signature F.Defregger 1879. Recto: below the picture is a small decorated rectangle containing the printed words and numbers '2313 F. Defregger 1883 Die Kinder des Meisters. Underneath this is printed to the left 'Vervielfaltigung vorbeh' and to the right 'Depose. - Registered'. In the centre underneath is printed 'FRANZ HANFSTAENGL, MUNCHEN' Verso: blank

Part of the Fenton Collection, a gift from the British Film Institute (BFI) in 2017. From 1986-1999, it was part of the BFI’s collection for the Museum of the Moving Image (MOMI). The BFI purchased the collection in 1986 from James Fenton (Fenton Museum of Photography, Port Erin, Isle of Man (1976-1986)
