Summary
A photograph album containing 12 loose monochrome albumen print copies of paintings. The album is card covered in a red material. Recto is decorated with a patterned centre of various colours and a black oval bearing in gold lettering the wording 'F. DEFREGGER-ALBUM. Verso is plain with a simple border. The spine is unadorned. There is a small gold label at the bottom right of the inside cover printed in black 'J.R.HERZOG BUCHEINDER4 LEIPZIG.
Provenance
Part of the Fenton Collection, a gift from the British Film Institute (BFI) in 2017. From 1986-1999, it was part of the BFI’s collection for the Museum of the Moving Image (MOMI). The BFI purchased the collection in 1986 from James Fenton (Fenton Museum of Photography, Port Erin, Isle of Man (1976-1986)
