Summary
Walnut veneered casket with domed lid and metal key in lock. Oval, cream-coloured ivory plaque screwed onto top of lid: Crown design and wording "The Stereoscopic Treasury". Metal hinges. Inside lid and base of box are lined with green felt. Inside of box has four compartments, the central one being largest and deepest, to accommodate the stereo viewer, and next largest section containing 31 stereographs. Left hand side of lid has small amount of damage to the wood veneer.
