Caption
Dame Ethel Walker was inspired by the Impressionists, and in particular, their use of colour. She identified with Manet, but was also taken with Old Masters like Velazquez. She lived in Cheyne Walk, Chelsea, establishing a studio there that she maintained for the rest of her life.
