Caption
This view of Hampstead is typical of Ginner’s urban landscapes. The artist was born of British parents, but was raised in France, and later came to be influenced by French artists, notably Van Gogh, Gaugin and Cezanne. He was a member of the Camden Town Group, so-called because they gathered at the studio of Walter Sickert in Camden. This group of artists was active from 1911 to around 1913.
