He in pink shirt and ruff with blue cloak, to her right, with right hand gloved and holding another glove, left hand on heart, eyes raised. She is dressed in a blue gown with gold cloak lined with white, with jewels fastening her bodice, in her cap, and on her cloak. With her left hand, she surreptitiously passes a sealed letter to an attendant in blue and white striped shirt, white turban and pearl drop earring. Red curtain behind. In black frame with gold inner edge.
