Summary
A lady's boned cream silk taffeta silk bodice, with a wide off the shoulder neckline and is elongated and pointed at the centre front and trimmed with pinked scalloped cream silk satin and fine braid trim on the front and back. Short full puffed sleeves with close set panes or bands of pinked scallop satin and fine braid. Two lacing bands with eyelets for fastening at the centre back. Lined with fine cream silk. The boned foundation is inscribed ‘M Abell’.
Provenance
Accepted by HM Government in lieu of inheritance tax and allocated to the National Trust for display at Claydon House, 2005.
