Group, ‘Painting and Sculpture’ from The Seven Groups of Arts and Sciences series. Soft-paste biscuit porcelain. Composed of two winged putti mounted on a shaped base, a seated figure with palette paints in a notebook, while a standing figure with a mallet sculpts a bust, on a flower-encrusted rocky mound. The model was introduced by 1771.
