[Saved] Oil painting on canvas, A Hunter by John E. Ferneley (Thrussington 1782 – Melton Mowbray 1860), signed and dated: J. Ferneley, Melton Mowbray 1848. A saddled horse, turned to the left in a stable.

Provenance

Owned by 3rd Lord Gardner, father of Florence, wife of 4th Earl of Onslow; Marked in Lady Iveagh’s 1966 Inventory, p47; Accepted by the Treasury in lieu of Estate Duty on the death of the 6th Earl presumably in 1977.
