Summary
[Saved] Massive carved and gilt 18th century armchair on cabriole legs with leaf scroll ornament. The back panel and seat covered in old silk velvet. Said to be Venetian but possibly the Speaker's chair or a city company chair. Would have had accompanying foot stool.

Marked in Lady Iveagh’s 1966 Inventory, p3; Purchased by the Department of Environment in 1975 from the 7th Earl of Onslow, transferred to the National Trust in 1977
