Summary
[Destroyed in the fire of 2015] Early 18th century needlework rug, the black ground worked with a yellow cartouche and brilliantly coloured summer flowers, exotic foliage and centred by the arms of Pleydell-Bouverie with a crest at each corner and enclosed by a yellow border worked with chains of oak leaves, and two white borders worked with a bird's-foot pattern.
