Summary
[Destroyed in the fire of 2015] Late George II yew-wood and tulipwood commode in the French taste, with bombe front and sides and two drawers, the top and sides inlaid with oval yew-wood panels in broad cross-banding of tulipwood, the front with four yew-wood panels similarly cross-banded, and the whole mounted in gilt-metal including a gadrooned border to the top, with rococo griffin and cabochon handles and husk and leaf mounts at the projecting corners, continuing to the massive scroll feet.
