Oil painting on canvas, John Henry Whitmore-Jones (1795/6-1853) by Edward Villiers Rippingille (King’s Lynn 1798 – Birmingham 1859), 1850/51. A half-length portrait of a mature man, turned slightly to the right, gazing slightly to the right, bald-headed with brown hair and side whiskers, wearing a black coat, brown waistcoat white shirt and black stock. He is holding a book in is right hand.
