Summary
One of a 'harlequin' set of Charles II oak and walnut dining chairs, c.1660, with alterations, all on twist-turned legs with turned and plain stretchers (some missing); (vii) with narrow padded back between carved stiles, flanked by twist-turned uprights with ball finials; cresting with foliate carving and central 'wheat sheaf' motif; foliate carved stretcher. Formerly, the seats and backrest of cane work.
