Oil painting on panel, Judge Francis Windham (d.1592), British (English) School, 1577. Half-length portrait of Francis Windham wearing a skull cap, white ruff, and a red and white cloak, turned to his left. Inscription at top 'Sr Francis Windham Sergeant at Law 1577 Eliz made one of ye Justices of ye Common Pleas 22 of Eliz 1579. Buried at St Peters Church in Norwich'. Son of Sir Edmund Windham and Susan Townsend; married Elizabeth Bacon. Judge of Common Pleas, Recorder of Norwich, MP for Norfolk, d.1592, buried at St Peter Mancroft, Norwich.

Bought by RWKC in 1949 Heydon Hall sale; bequeathed with the hall and contents by Robert Wyndham Ketton-Cremer (1906 – 1969) Part of the Windham Collection. The hall and contents were bequeathed to the National Trust in 1969 by Robert Wyndham Ketton-Cremer (1906-1969)
