Summary
An oil painting on canvas of Anne Thellusson; Mrs William (Lukin) Windham (1775-1849) by William Edward West (Lexington 1788 – Nashville 1857).A half-length portrait of a woman wearing a dark dress with white collar and cap, who is turned to the viewer's left, gazing at the viewer. She was the daughter of Peter Thellusson of Brodsworth. It was painted in 1833, the last year of this American artist's sojourn in England.
Provenance
Part of the Windham Collection. The hall and contents were bequeathed to the National Trust in 1969 by Robert Wyndham Ketton-Cremer (1906-1969)
