Summary
Gouache on paper, Amphitheatre of Vespasian at Rome called Colosseo, Rome, by G.B. Busiri (1698-1757). A view of the colosseum with the Church and Convent of S.S. Giovanni and Paolo visible at right. A fanciful stone sphinx and figures in foreground.
Provenance
Part of the Windham Collection. The hall and contents were bequeathed to the National Trust in 1969 by Robert Wyndham Ketton-Cremer (1906-1969)
