Summary
A mahogany and satinwood inlaid bureau bookcase, English, circa 1780 The top section has a moulded cornice and a pair of astragal glazed doors enclosing shelves. The lower section has a hinged fall inlaid with quarter fan decoration to the corners and encloses a fitted interior of drawers and pigeon holes. The bureau is raised on bracket feet and has brass handles and escutcheons.
Provenance
Part of the Windham Collection. The hall and contents were bequeathed to the National Trust in 1969 by Robert Wyndham Ketton-Cremer (1906-1969)
