Summary

Print, line engraving, James Ussher (1581-1656) Archbishop of Armagh (after Sir Peter Lely) by George Vertue (London 1684 - London 1756). In the possession of General Tyrrel at Shotover in Oxfordshire'. Painted by Lely, engraved by Vertue 1738. Mounted in separate sheet with letterpress stuck to mount underneath engraving. Includes insert showing blind aunts teaching him to read. Second sheet is letterpress with biographical details. See also F63.2 and F63.3.
