Summary
Print, engraving, Classical Landscape (after John (Chichester) Smith) by William Woollett (Maidstone 1735 - London 1785). Original dated 1760, and published by J. Boydell 1763. Landscape with large trees in the foreground with peasants and a lake and buildings in the middle distance. The original painting obtained the second premium granted by the Society for the Encouragement of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce in London. Black and gilt frame, mounted and glazed.
Provenance
Part of the Windham Collection. The hall and contents were bequeathed to the National Trust in 1969 by Robert Wyndham Ketton-Cremer (1906-1969)
