Summary
Print, line engraving, Sir William Wyndham, 3rd Bt MP (1687-1740) (after Jonathan Richardson the elder) by Jacobus Houbraken (Dordrecht 1698 - Amsterdam 1780). 1740. From a painting by Mr Richardson belonging to L. Bolingbroke. William Wyndham in full wig is seen within an oval surrounded by draped curtains, his shield and a winged staff with serpents entwined. Shield has 3 lions, a hand and a chevron. Black frame, glazed. Engraved by Houbraken, Amsterdam 1741. Published by Knapton of London 1741.
Provenance
Part of the Windham Collection. The hall and contents were bequeathed to the National Trust in 1969 by Robert Wyndham Ketton-Cremer (1906-1969)
