Summary
Print, engraving, Narcissus (after Francisco Vieira Lusitano) by Francesco Bartolozzi (Florence 1727 – Lisbon 1815) and Benjamin Rodolphe Comte (1760/1762 - 1851). Framed engraving by B. Conte for the landscape, and by F. Bartolozzi for the figures. From a painting by Francisco Vieira Lusitano. Narcissus admires himself in a wooded pool while a winged cupid in the middle of the picture fires an arrow from a fountain. Three figures look on at the right.
Provenance
Part of the Windham Collection. The hall and contents were bequeathed to the National Trust in 1969 by Robert Wyndham Ketton-Cremer (1906-1969)
