Summary
Print, copper line engraving, Landscape with Figures (after Francesco Zuccarelli) by William Byrne (London 1743 – London 1805). Originally in the possession of James Connell. Classical landscape depicting a woman with an urn attacking a mother and child in the foreground, next to a tree. In the middle distance a herdsman moves his stock towards the distant hills and buildings. Engraved and published by Byrne 1775, No.63 Wells St, Oxford Street, London. Printed by Gramble. Black frame, gilt slip, mounted and glazed.
Provenance
Part of the Windham Collection. The hall and contents were bequeathed to the National Trust in 1969 by Robert Wyndham Ketton-Cremer (1906-1969)
