Summary
A print; etching. It is entitled 'Man in a Fur Coat and Hat' (after Rembrandt) by Thomas Worlidge (Peterborough 1700 - Hammersmith 1766). Dated 1751. A half-length seated figure of man in fur coat and hat, turned slightly to his left. A glazed and carved black frame. Matches FEL/D/4. These are characteristic examples of Rembrandt imitations by this interesting amateur painter and etcher.
Provenance
Part of the Windham Collection. The hall and contents were bequeathed to the National Trust in 1969 by Robert Wyndham Ketton-Cremer (1906-1969).
