Summary
One of a set of twelve early George III dinner plates; Herne and Butty London 1762. The shaped circular plates armorial engraved within drapery cartouches on the raised rims, applied with leaf punctuated gadroon borders, the undersides incised with contemporary scratch weights. 218 oz. 10 dwt. (Sotheby's catalogue). Purchased 16.10.1985 for £5,186, including £586 various charges. Sold by family. Fetherstonhaugh arms engraved. (NT/UPP/M/58a - l).
