Summary
One of a pair of late Victorian oak cabinets by Collier and Plucknett. A cushion crenellated top sits above a cavetto cornice carved with stylised flowers below which is a pair of bevelled mirrored doors with gothic arch astragels. Inside are four sliders. Below is an arcaded shelf with two ebonised columns, the three panels at the back are decorated with ebonised lines with a floral motif in the middle of each panel. Below are two small frieze drawers with a larger frieze drawer in the middle, all with metal handles. There is a sliding shelf above the small right frieze drawer. Two small cupboards are placed under the small drawers, with an open shelf between. They each have two decorative metal hinges and a metal handle, with a marquetry panel in the middle. At the bottom is an open shelf with a brown oak panelled back and a satinwood and parquetry zigzag banded shaped apron. Four ebonised columns with palm leaf capitals and ebonised inlaid pedestals rest on ring-turned conical legs and ball feet.
