Summary
Oil painting on panel, The Garland Makers (triptych) by Charles Fairfax Murray (1849-1919), signed on each panel: CFM in bottom right hand corner, circa 1879. First panel has two figures, one in red holding a garland. Larger centre panel has two figures, one in blue standing one in red sitting; stone villa with wall in background. Third panel has two figures, one standing, one kneeling, trees and castle-like buildings in background with spouting water. Frame probably Italian. No 38 at the Grosvenor Gallery in 1879.

Acquired from the first exhibition of the Grosvenor Gallery, London by Antony Gibbs (1841 - 1907) in 1879; purchased by the National Trust from the estate of the late George Richard Lawley Gibbs, 2nd Baron Wraxall (1928 – 2001) with the assistance of the NHMF, Art Fund and donations from members and supporters in 2002
