Summary
Part of a two piece tailored wedding costume of navy blue twilled wool, jacket with attached blouse and skirt. Skirt; Long panelled skirt with 'hobble' band and button round hem. Attached blouse of cream washing silk with mock waistcoat front of striped moire silk, three metal cased pearl buttons showing above and below jacket fastening. 1915 (circa)
Provenance
belonged to donor's mother and worn at her wedding in Ireland 1915. Wedding arranged at short notice as bridegroomwas called up and posted abroad as army chaplin. N.B Very similar to dress pattern pp18/19 'Paris Fashions' May 9th 1914 (in Rougemont House archive)
