Summary
Part of a two-piece tailored day dress, costume of rich brown silk velveteen. Bodice or jacket; high round neck with attached draped collar with bow to back, close fitting darted body with pointed basques to back and open pointed weighted front filled in with shaped velveteen 'vest' buttoned in with sixteen metal buttons each side; Coat sleeves with 'Italian' puffed oversleeve of velveteen cuffs. Machine-sewn lined throughout with brown twill Made by 'T.Robinson Dress and Costume Maker, Ironmarket, Newcastle' (woven into waistband)
