Summary
One of a pair of pale blue and cream satin lady's shoes. Narrow pointed toe, white covered 2 1/8 in thin wedge heel. Straights. White straps to buckle over pointed tongue, white binding. Vamp embroidered with silver thread and sequins. White kid quarter lining inscribed 'Mifs Jones'. Buckles removed. Julie Swann's remarks having seen photograph - 1775-80 take brooch off. Might find vamp embroidery pattern in 'The lady's Magazine'- these used to be embroidered at home then sent to the shoe maker for making up. 1775 - 1780 (circa)
