One of a pair of purple brocade lady's shoes with green binding and matching clogs. Shoe, needlepoint upcurved toe, 1 3/4 in brocade covered heel. White kid rand straights. White finish under arch, straps to buckle over high tongue (buckle marks visable), the tongue lined in red silk. White kid lining, brown leather insole. Brocade worn from clog straps. June Swann's remarks having seen photograph 1720's very rare to get matching clog. 20's rather than 40's since red lined tongue to fold over. Natalie Rothstein dated brocade as 1720's. 1720 (circa)
