Sarcophagus-shaped rosewood needlework box with gadrooned edges, turquoise green interior, the lid with rushed silk pincushion, framed tooled leather with envelope compartment, labelled 'bought at Thos.Lund..56157 Cornhill London. Compartment tray with tooled leather covers etc. Contents of needlework box as follows; Ivory multiple winder, 6 m-o-p reel holders plus one larger, 2 leather needlebooks, gilt metal magnifying glass and scissors, bone bodkin, metal bodkin, 2 bone-bladed penknives, straw-work netting case, m-o-p thread winder, m-o-p tatting shuttle and gold ring-pin, 2 silver thimbles, filled satin pincushions, ivory tape measure (green ribbon). Underneath; Ivory / bone netting clamp, carved bone bodkin case with bodkin, implement - flower-bud shaped vegetable ivory?, 2 sets (6 and 5) small enamel button (possible Bilton) - ivory, punched card pattern. 1825 - 1850
