Summary

A mahogany bureau bookcase, English, circa 1770. Topped by a broken pediment with dentilled cornice (and later central finial) above a blind fretwork frieze. The upper doors with applied mouldings and enclosing an interior of shelves, the base with hinged slope enclosing an interior centred by a small cupboard door surrounded by drawers and pigeonholes, some inlaid. Above four graduated long drawers and raised on bracket feet. Brass handles and escutcheons.
