Summary
One of two sleeves - Part of corset bodice and sleeves - Made from blue silk brocade with a large scale design of naturalistic flowers in pinks, greens and yellows. This is French silk - point rentree 1735-1737. There are blue linen tabs. It is lined with linen. It is heavily boned with eyelet holes down the backs and fronts for the stomacher. Sleeves would attach with blue ribbon. The cuff of the sleeves is trimmed with cream silk ribbon. There are 6 hip tabs. Cf. Nancy Bradfield 'Costume in Detail' pg.7 (female) (foundation garment)
