Summary
Uniform hat - Made from black beaver with a leather headband, the lining is missing. It is cocked with curved back and front flaps. There is a black braid cockade overlaid with interlacing gold wire with a daisy-like flower pattern, roundels and one square all in gold wire. There is one brass button with 'RHG' with the Royal Crown. There are two pieces of silk braid (General Officer Pattern) on either side of the front flap going diagonally across. Gold and red wire tassels with red cord laced through at both points. There is a piece of leather at the back of the front flap for a plume. The measurement of the flaps coincides with 1846 Dress Regulations. Household Cavalry - Vetinary and Medical Officers. The hat is in a japanned box - SNO.TC.2198. (male) (uniform)
