Summary
Waistcoat made from silk brocaded with various silver gilt threads, ruby chenille and pink and cream silk. The back has yellow watered moire sides and back skirts with a cream linen back. It is trimmed with garlands of flowers, leaves and tassels embroidered in multicoloured silks and chenille round the leading edges and hem of the foreparts and pocket flaps. There are rows of embroidered small simple flowers and sprays of leaves alternating over the foreparts. It fastens with 1 buttons - silver gilt purl and plate in a lattice design. The buttonholes are silver gilt plate over vellum strips. Possibly made from an earlier garment. (male)
