Summary
Waistcoat made from blue silk satin with design in silver gilt, brocaded en disposition. The design is of bunches of snowdrops joined with stylised leaves getting larger and including daffodils at the lower end and placed down the leading edges, the hem of the foreparts and on the pocket flaps. The back is blue silk satin. It is lined with cream silk tafeta facings and part lining with cream linen. There are eyelet holes down the centre back for lacing - possibly later alterations. It fastens with 12 buttons - silver thread in a lattice design over silver foil (basket buttons). It is French weaving rather than English. See SNO.TC.5.
