Summary
Waistcoat - Made from pink silk brocaded with rococco design of flowers in pinks, blues, leaves in greens and silver lace down the leading edges. Could be French or Italian. The back is cream linen with pink silk facing around the neck. There are 10 buttons embroidered with silver purl and plate. It has possibly been altered by removing pocket flaps. Fabric dated by Natalie Rothstein to 1739, French of a group of French Patterns belonging to Anna Maria Garthwaite (5974 series, esp. 5974.26). (male)
