Summary
One of a pair of female shoes with cream, green, pink, blue maroon and grey brocade uppers. White damask heel 60 mm (2,375 in). Brown leather sole. Toe blunt, slightly domed. Heel 60 mm, covered, shaped. Top piece leather. Sole straights, shaped, worn, continues to heel breast. Height of vamp 127 mm (5.375 in). Upper with pointed tongue. Sides extend to latchets to cross over vamp. Lined with cream linen quarters and vamp. Back seam height 64 mm (2.5 in). Brown leather insole. Size 241 mm (9.5 in). Natalie Rothstein dates the fabric as c. 1725 ? English.
