Summary
Frock coat - Made of old gold silk stockinette with velvet pile. lined with old gold silk twill. Interlined with linen. Reinforced with strips of heavy canvas, napped wool and sized canvas. Deep stand-fall collar. Revers. Double-breasted at chest only then cut away - leave no front skirts. Welted pockets. Narrow back centre vent with tackover. Pleated side vents. Opening held together with places. Shaped sleeve with small, sewn-down cuff. Originally pink silk twill edging to collar, front edge, cuff etc. Flat steel buttons. 1 right front from shoulder to mid-line with 5 on left front, the 2 rows converging on chest. 2 on each cuff. 1 on each pocket. Hip buttons, 2 at hem on each side vent. Small buttons with mark 'S F'. Buttonholes to match buttons centre-front. Cuffs and pockets buttoned.
