Summary
Waistcoat - Made of cream horizontally ribbed silk, possibly repp. Back natural colour wool (dark blue and pink in selvedge). Lined mainly in linen/cotton mix, possibly fustian. Front edges faced cream silk twill. Straight front line cut away to overlap side vents. Collarless, round neck. Long narrow curving pocket flaps with scallop edge. Curved opening to pockets. Back just shorter than foreparts. Centre vent. Cotton hanging tape. Decorated with tamboured silver thread and sequins in a border design of bows and stars and all-over scattered stars. 10 matching embroidered buttons centre-front, with small buttonholes edged with silver thread, all cut. 1 button on front corner of right hand pocket flap. Front edges re-faced with cream silk. Back widened with 2 triangular additions at sides.
