Summary
Breeches made from silk tissue, with a small overall design of zigzag stripes of bronze and cream and rings of rust and black. Lined with white linen. Fall and buttonholes at knee faced with cream silk twill. Interlining of copper-brown glazed wool and hessian behind buttons and buttonholes. Kneebands faced with green napped wool. Cut with small fall. 2 frog-mouth pockets, buttoned. Deep waistband with opening at back with piece of cream silk satin extension. Fall and knee opening and pockets edged with narrow folded strip of cream satin. Fasted with wood self-covered butons. 2 for fall, 3 centre front, 2 on pockets. 4 on each knee. Knee straps and buttonholes. strap and buttonhole centre back. (male)
