Summary
Court coat - Silk velvet coat with a pattern of voided stripes and squares in black, pink and green. Mainly ream silk lining. Cotton panel in back. Sleeves linen and twilled silk. Forepart fronts interlined with flannel. Pockets linen, cuffs cream satin. Close fitting, below kneelength. Edge to edge, closure, curving away. Back vent. Side vents, stitched together, with triple pleats. Deep stand up collar, curved sleeves with deep round cuffs. 2 matching hip buttons. Pocket on each hip with deep scalloped flap. Richly embroidered with metal thread, sequins, silk thread and paste jewels in a design of flowers and leaves. Ten matching buttons on front, three on each cuff and three beneath pocket flaps - all false. . Fastened with two metal hooks and eyes. (male)
