Black and white portrait photograph on a postcard of an actor with long, wavy hair, dressed in the costume of a flower seller - check skirt, a wrap-around shawl and headscarf. Printed below 'Miss Ellaline Terriss', 'No. 719 K Matt, 719 KF Gloss, Beagles & Co. E.C.', and 'Ellis and Walery'. Printed on reverse 'J. Beagles & Co., London E.C. - Printed in England'. The photograph is from her performance as Bluebell in "Bluebell in Fairyland", first produced in London in 1901. Her full name was Mary Ellaline Terris, Lady Hicks, being married to actor-producer Sir Edward Seymour Hicks.
