Summary
Portrait miniature, watercolour on ivory, Fraser of Nevis, West Indies, by Henry Edridge, RA (Paddington 1769 – London 1821). c.1790. Oval. Head and shoulders portrait of a man, turned to the right, gazing at the spectator, wearing a blue coat with gilt buttons and deep collar, white waistcoat, white silk shirt frill. Light brown eyes, powdered hair, fresh face with double chin, aged about 60. Plain fawn background, darker to the left. Handwritten inscription on the back reads 'Fraser Esq of Nevis, the brother of General Fraser who held Brimstone Hill, St Kitts v. the French'.
