Summary
Table top barrel Organ, (Table Organ/Bird Organ/Serinette), anon, English c.1800. Not in working order. There are two stops, a stopped wood 8ft and an open wood 4ft.There are 14 keys and one barrel with ten tunes. The label with the tune titles is torn. The following are more or less legible: '10 Calestock[?] Lodge 9 The Irish Washerwoman 8 Cotage Waltz 7 La Matin[?]' The pin to lift the keys off the barrel is missing, so that the keys are in playing position. Front, back and left side lift out. Handle screws into hole in right side front pillar. Front panel has mock organ pipes. In notebook no.4, page 6 (1340945.4) Charles Wade refers to: 'Music Room 49. Barrel Organ small "Bird" organ, mahogany case with gold pipes in two arched panels - all wood pipes.'
