Summary
Pierced brass hanging oil lamp with dome shaped top with pierced circular finial and four glass oil vessels suspended below. Glass pieces have painted decoration. Suspended from the ceiling by three chains attached to a bell shaped hanger, with a stronger chain attaching to ceiling (later addition) . In notebook no.4, page 30 (1340945.4) Charles Wade refers to: 'Seraphim 1. Hanging Lantern of pierced Brass with domed top & four glass vessels below for wicks, set in traceried rings. fr. Arabian Mosque (Damascus) ' Includes sketch with dimensions.
