Summary
Sand glass, hour glass. Wooden frame with five plain pillars. Ends with turned circular decoration and spheres with a central wax junction. Unsigned. Perhaps mid 18th century. From Burnham Thorpe Church in Norfolk where Nelson's father was the Rector. Sept 2010 found broken. One pillar missing. Glass broken in two. 'Five sand glasses, the earlier ones had the glass made in two separate angled sections bound together. The largest was from Burnham Thorpe Church, where Nelson's father was rector' (M. Jessup).

C.W 648 from Burnham Thorpe Church in Norfolk where Nelson's father was the Rector Given to the National Trust with Snowshill Manor in 1951 by Charles Paget Wade.
