Summary
Eight day, English Tavern Clock in ebonised case, c.1770. Shield dial, crest painted on door. Pierced brass hands, arabic minute numerals IX written as XI. Single train with anchor escapement and intermediate wheel. 18lb rectangular lead weight. This may have come from a Servant's Hall as it has a crest painted on the door. Bought from Cole and Sons, Stowmarket, January 1932, 15gns.
