Summary
A clock bell, now in use with the C18th turret clock (1342545). Suspended by two vertical iron brackets from a light piece of wood fixed between the frame of the clock and an adjacent roof purlin. Bell of a later date, does not belong with the clock. Bell apparently connected to the clock at the time of repairs to the movement, carried out in 1982. Inscription and marks: [none] Founder and date: General foundry casting – not attributable to a specific maker – of later C19 or early C20 date Mouldings: Edge moulding below shoulder and ridge mouldings on soundbow and above the lip Canons and argent: Peg argent Frequency / note: 2707.5Hz (E plus 45 cents) Provenance: Unknown ( Turret clock, inventory number 1333370 current location hundred wheels).
